今回は医学文献でよく目にする自動詞の present です。present は「（患者が診察のために）現れる」、present with は「（患者や病気が症状を）呈する」などと訳せます。 present 自体は中学校で習う基本単語とされていますが、自動詞の present は一般での使用頻度は低いため、詳しく解説している辞書は少ないと思います。
A 31-year-old woman presented to the emergency department complaining of chest pain.
（31歳女性が胸痛を訴えて救急部を受診した）
Patients with diabetic ketoacidosis present with nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
（糖尿病性ケトアシドーシス患者は、悪心、嘔吐、腹痛を呈する）
Glomerulonephritis tends to present with microscopic hematuria.
